Ribble Steam Railway houses one of the largest collection of standard gauge industrial locomotives in the UK. 26 Steam, 17 Diesel & 2 battery Electric locomotives are housed along with a selection of rolling stock in the three purpose built engine sheds on Chain Caul Road.

The Museum houses 17 of our locos in addition to a shop & cafe. From the museum, you can board a steam hauled service which runs across the marina swing bridge, and alongside the River Ribble up to Strand Road.

How to get here

Car

If you're heading from the M6, leave at Junction 29 (if you're travelling Northbound) - whilst Southbound visitors should depart at Junction 31.
Head towards the town centre following Signs for Riversway Docklands Then follow the brown signs for Steam Railway - and this will bring you to our Riversway headquarters.
