Roydon Woods covers 950 acres.

It is an intimate mixture of ancient and recent woodland, heathland, old meadows and semi improved fields. The reserve has a varied flora with over 350 species of flowering plant and more than 120 species of lichen, some of them very rare.


As you walk along the network of paths through Roydon Woods youll discover many different habitats, each with their own character and wildlife. Deer can be seen or heard in the woodland

How to get here

Car

From the Filly Inn beside the A337 at Setley walk east along the bridleway to the main entrance. There is very limited car parking at the Sandy Down entrance, at Royden Crossroads, Blazemore Farm and beside Church Lane from where bridleways lead into the reserve.
