St Marys Church Chalgrove: Visit one of the most complete sets of medieval wall paintings in the country Dating from approximately 1320AD, the medieval wall paintings cover three walls of the chancel and are dedicated to St Mary. They depict, on the north wall, a Jesse tree, the Annunciation, Jesus' birth and childhood and his Passion, Crucifixion, Resurrection and Ascension. The south wall shows a Doom, Mary's death and assumption, Thomas and the girdle and Mary's crowning as Queen of Heaven. Additionally there are eight saints on the window alcoves.
