Stansted Park is set in 1800 acres of ancient forest on the borders of Hampshire and Sussex. In 1983 the 10th Earl of Bessborough gave Stansted Park, his family home, to the public.
The forest is enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year and managed to preserve wildlife habitats. The private chapel, splendid mansion rooms and the fully furnished servants' quarters below stairs are open to visitors and there is an arboretum and Stansted Light Railway.
