Talkin Tarn Country Park: The Tarn has a 1.3 mile circular path that is ideal for a gentle stroll. There are also three way marked trails of varying lengths; 1.5km, 2.5km and 3.5km starting from the car park and on into woods and fields.

Tarn has a variety of different habitiats, attracting many different species of wildlife throughout the year. Red squirrels frequent the bird and squirrel feeding area next to the tearoom, along with nuthatches and greater spotted woodpeckers. Other speicies of wildlife that you may encounter at Talkin Tarn include the Otter, badgers, foxes and roe deer.

How to get here


Talkin Tarn is located approximately 9 miles east of Carlisle and just a mile south off the A69. Follow the brown signs to Talkin Tarn Country Park from the roundabout at Brampton.
