How to get here

Car

from the A1(M)
Leave the motorway from the Chester le Street turnoff and take the A693 Stanley/ Consett road following the signs for Beamish Museum. Continue past the roundabout to Beamish Museum and continue towards Stanley. At the top of the hill turn right at the sign for Causey Arch/Tanfield Railway. Continue down the hill until you reach a T Junction. Turn right at this Junction on to the A6076 Gateshead road following the Causey Arch/Tanfield Railway signs and the Railway is approximately 2 miles along this road on the left Hand side.

From the Gateshead Western By-Pass
Take the A692 Consett Road until you reach the village of Sunniside. At the traffic lights in the village turn left on to the A6076 Stanley Road and the railway is approximately 1 mile along this road on the right hand side
