An authentic 19th Glasgow tenement house which has four floors with two flats on each floor. On the first floor is the Tenement House, and the exhibition which is in the Reception flat on the ground floor with displays on tenement life and the history of the tenement in Glasgow. The Tenement House is very compact, with four rooms - bedroom, parlour, kitchen and bathroom opening off a square hallway with gas lighting. The House is furnished with typical late Victorian furniture and a few older pieces such as the grandfather clock in the hallway, made in the 1790s and the oak bureau in the parlour which dates from the 1750s.

How to get here


First Bus, numbers 20, 66 or 59. Alight at Stow College on West Graham Street. Take Garnethill Street, Scott Street or Dalhousie Street up the hill and turn right into Buccleuch Street. Takes approximately 5 minutes (route avoiding steep hills).
