Tynemouth Brigade Watch House Museum: The Brigade Watch House Museum is packed full of fascinating and unique artefacts of the Brigades history ranging from the Ships bell from one of the Shipwrecks to a picture of Her Majesty The Queen visiting the Brigade. Furthermore behind every picture and relic is a captivating story about how it links into both the Brigades past and present role as a Voluntary Life Brigade on the North Tyneside Coastline.

How to get here

Car

Follow road sings for Tynemouth. If approaching from the North, follow the road on the coast until you reach Tynemouth priory, then turn left down Pier Road, follow the road as it takes you up the hill towards Spanish Battery and then the Museum is on the left. If approaching from the West drive through Tynemouth, along Front Street, until you reach Tynemouth Priory and then follow the above instructions. Public car parks are located within a few hundred metres, on the Spanish Battery headland and in the Blockyard, on the right immediately after the bridge at the bottom of Pier Bank.

Bus

Arriva - Service 306 (Newcastle to Tynemouth) - stops by the War Memorial in Tynemouth. If you alight here, head East towards Tynemouth Front Street, and continue until you reach Tynemouth Priory. After this head down Pier Road, go over the bridge and then bear left up the hill, the Watch House is on your right at the top of the hill.
Service 356 (Haymarket Bus Station to Tynemouth) - this service stops by Priory Primary School on Percy Park Road in Tynemouth. If you alight here head south towards Tynemouth Front Street, and then follow the same instructions as above.

Go-Ahead - Services 1, 2, 75, 76, 85 and 86 all stop by Kings School, Tynemouth, when coast-bound. Once leaving the bus head East onto Tynemouth Front Street and walk towards the Priory. Once at the Priory go down Pier Road, over the bridge and then bear left up the hill, the Watch House is on your right. The same Go-Ahead services stop opposite Priory Primary School when heading into North Shields. If you get off hear, head south towards Tynemouth Front Street, and then follow the same instructions as above.
