Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa: Victoria Park is a tree lined riverside park for families and sport. The riverside path, New River Walk, had been laid out in the early 1860s and the park was opened to mark Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee in 1899 as part of the Corporations plan to provide more recreation space for the growing town, especially its children. The park has play areas for all ages a paddling pool with shallow treated water, but please, no dogs and space in plenty for ball games, picnics, sunbathing and picnic tables by the play area. Then there are the walks, a half mile circuit of the park or a longer more secluded woodland riverside walk. Tennis, bowls, boarding and blading, netball, cricket whatever gets you out of doors, you will find it in Victoria Park.
